Are you using your resources properly? That's the question we want to address today. We want to ask you, as you go into your appointments, are you using all of the resources that you have at your disposal? If not, let me encourage you to change the way you're doing things with these insurance tips. For example, many of the carriers now have over the counter catalogs and over the counter benefits. And, you know, you can tell a consumer that, hey, you get 40 dollars or you get 50 dollars a quarter to spend in an OTC catalog, which is great.
OTC Catalog Insurance Tips
As humans, most of us are wired to be visual creatures. And there's nothing like being able to open the catalog up and be able to show this to individuals. I happened to pick up Cigna's here today, but United Healthcare has them, Humana, they package them in their pre enrollment kits, which is very smart. A great insurance tip is to use those visual aids because I myself have had times and I've been in homes that this has been the closer for me.
I'll never forget the time that I had an individual that didn't seem to be overly impressed with a whole lot of the benefits. They didn't think they would use the free gym membership. They had dentures and said, "I probably won't use this or that". However, when I opened up the catalog and they could visually see some of the other items that were available to them, it made a light bulb go off and they realized that this could be true savings for them.
Fresh Foods Discount Card
So don't forget your over the counter catalogs before you go out on the appointments. Also, you may find that your carriers in your area are offering fresh food discount cards. I would encourage you if you're working in the low income D-SNP market to have a copy of that card, if you can get it. If not, get a photo. Let these people know what to be expecting whenever it gets mailed to them so they don't miss out on the opportunity.
Insurance Tips to get copies of OTC Catalogs
As always, we're here to help you if we can. We want you to be successful, and that's just a tip that I have found that has worked for many ages. So let me encourage you to go to the website, go to the agent portals, order your supplies. If you can't get one, reach out to your local managers. For the carriers, ask them for one copy.
We recommend writing "agent copy" on it. That way it doesn't grow legs and walk off because you will have someone that will want to keep this. Let them know that they'll be getting theirs in their enrollment kit when it comes in from the carrier.
Again, if you have any questions, give us a call here at Tidewater Management Group. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. And I wish you the best.
